The SL of the Mercedes-Benz 230 model series, first presented to the Hamburg press at the Deichtorhallen in 2001, took the automotive world by storm. Thanks to the globally unique combination of state-of-the-art electronic chassis systems, it offered an outstanding driving experience and maximum driving safety. The design of the series united tradition and future thanks to striking details. These details included narrow, wing-like profiles on the side air openings, the horizontally elongated radiator grille and the muscular-looking fenders. Unlike its predecessors, the SL R 230 always had a fixed roof. The integration of the vario-roof made the body a special highlight, as the roof could be opened or closed in just 16 seconds at the touch of a button. The hand-assembled precision model on a scale of 1:18, which is made of die-cast zinc with plastic parts, captures the charm of the model series exactly and faithfully reproduces all the interior details. Four parts of the model, doors, hood and tailgate, can be opened. The scope of delivery includes the vario-roof, a screwdriver and a glove. This model is part of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Collection and is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
