Product information "Model car: Experimental vehicle C 111 / II (1970), B66041069"

In September 1969, Daimler-Benz caused a sensation with the presentation of the experimental C 111 vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With its extreme wedge shape, upward-opening gullwing doors and unusual, eye-catching paintwork, the super sports car from Untertürkheim was a real eye-catcher. It was also a technical milestone: the body was made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic and was riveted and bonded to the steel frame floor. The wheel suspension benefited from racing experience, and the drive was a three-disc Wankel engine that produced 280 hp and enabled a top speed of 270 km/h - an impressive performance for the time. The C 111 was repeatedly used for record runs and set several world records. The miniature model of the experimental vehicle is a detailed replica of the original. It impresses with its authentic paintwork and faithful reproduction of all interior details. The model is mounted on a printed base and packaged in a presentation box. It is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic Design packaging.
