For this reason, Mercedes-Benz has designed the DUALFIX 5Z child seat, which offers safety and comfort when traveling for infants from 3 months to 4 years of age (approved according to R129 for children from 61 to 105 cm and 18 kg body weight). The seat can be installed together with the FLEX BASE 5Z in both rearward-facing (body height 61 - 105 cm) and forward-facing (body height 76 - 105 cm) positions, thanks to a useful swivel function. The base ensures simple, ergonomic installation and optimum safety. The swivel function also allows the child to get in and out quickly and easily. The 6 adjustable recline positions ensure a comfortable ride, while the soft, padded side bolsters offer protection in the event of a collision. The DUALFIX 5Z also has a V-shaped headrest that can be individually adjusted to the child's size and restricts the child's movements to protect the child's neck in the event of an accident. The 5-point harness system distributes the impact forces to all 5 points (shoulders, hips and between the legs) on the protective shell of the seat and offers additional safety. The harnesses are fitted with soft special protective pads that can be washed if necessary. The exclusive covers in anthracite and beige, created by Mercedes-Benz designers, are made of high-quality materials, are removable and washable; replacement covers are available separately.
