However, before the forged wheels become a reliable companion on every journey, they have to undergo an extensive development and testing process. Each wheel design has to pass a large number of endurance tests, which are carried out in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz standards and go far beyond the legal requirements. This includes special test procedures that simulate real road traffic conditions, as well as material tests in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.
High-gloss turned or polished wheels must pass additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully passed may the wheels be included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz forged wheels.
AMG forged wheels are supplied without tires, wheel hub caps, valve caps, wheel bolts and wheel locks.
