Before the alloy wheels are approved for all types of driving, they have to undergo an extensive development and testing program. All wheel designs have to pass various endurance tests, which are carried out in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz guidelines and exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real road traffic situations, as well as material tests in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.

Gloss-turned wheels undergo additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully completed are the wheels included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light alloy wheels.
