Before the alloy wheels can be considered a reliable partner on every tour, they have to undergo an extensive development and testing program. Each wheel design has to pass a large number of endurance tests, which are carried out in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz standards and exceed all legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate realistic road traffic conditions, as well as material tests in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.

Gloss-turned wheels must undergo additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully completed may the wheels be included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels.
