All wheel designs have to pass various endurance tests, which are carried out according to strict Mercedes-Benz standards and go far beyond the legal requirements. These include special test methods that simulate real road traffic conditions, as well as examination of the materials in state-of-the-art X-ray equipment.

Gloss-turned wheels must pass additional tests such as highly corrosive salt spray or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully passed may the wheels be included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels.
