All wheel designs have to pass a large number of endurance tests, which are carried out in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz guidelines and exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real road traffic conditions, as well as material tests in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.

Gloss-turned wheels must undergo additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully passed may the wheels be included in the product range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels.
