The light-alloy wheels must undergo an extensive development and test program before they are approved as safe companions for all journeys. Each wheel design has to pass a large number of endurance tests, which are carried out in accordance with strict Mercedes-Benz standards that exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real road traffic conditions, as well as examinations of the materials in state-of-the-art X-ray facilities.

Polished wheels undergo additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been passed may the wheels be included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels are supplied without tires, wheel hub caps, valve caps, wheel bolts and wheel locks.
