Each wheel is precisely matched to the respective vehicle in terms of its load capacity and dimensions. Before the light alloy wheels are approved as reliable companions on every journey, they have to undergo a comprehensive development and testing program. Each wheel design must pass a series of endurance tests in accordance with the strict Mercedes-Benz standards, all of which exceed the legal requirements. These include special test procedures that simulate real road traffic scenarios, as well as examinations of the materials in state-of-the-art X-ray machines.

Gloss-turned wheels must pass additional tests, such as highly corrosive salt spray tests or a 28-day climate change program. Only when all tests have been successfully completed are the wheels included in the range as genuine Mercedes-Benz light alloy wheels.
